To accomplish your goal of growing your online audience so that they turn into clients and referral partners, you need solid and confident brand velocity. Brand velocity is the ability to engage your audience and share things that they are genuinely interested in, right now and continuously. I hear some people in our industry who still doubt that building a personal brand for themselves is beneficial for the growth of their business, as they fear they won’t see any results. This is fairly understood in the cases where

their social media activity is coming from third party cookie-cutter social post companies, or from other marketing agency’s they might hire for way too little or way too much money to create bland scarce social posts that are generic, non-emotional or authentic to your business, and that are poorly branded and managed.


Building relationships and growing your brand on social media and digital platforms is really no different than doing it in person, but is actually more beneficial, if you think about it. It is a huge advantage that we have today... Rather than building one relationship at a time as we would in person, we can cast out our social and business nets to thousands (or even millions) of people instantly by simply showcasing who we are and what we care about, and with just one click of a mouse.

CREATE CONTENT OR MESSAGES FOR FRAGMENTED AUDIENCES

We’ve all heard the saying, "When speaking to everybody, you are speaking to nobody." This also applies when identifying your target audiences and micro niching your brand, which is extremely important to the success of growing your brand online and organically growing your business. Think about it, when searching online or looking for things that interest you personally, unless the image, video or content is speaking directly to your needs and wants, you quickly lose interest and move on. As the person behind the post, the only way to be authentic is to be real about who the audiences are and what they care about, in order to be able to organically connect with them and get their attention. If you have more than one audience, it’s a good idea to identify the similarities between those audiences and create content that they can both identify with. Generic/Salesy content is everywhere, so don’t become another annoying account wanting to sell people with cheesy graphics or in authenticity in your content and messages, without putting in the work to allow others to know you and to truly identify with you and your brand. People care about the connection and trust. And you should too. It’s what keeps a business loved, trusted, and soaring. People love brands who know them and care about them.

Creating and sharing content that is relevant to your audience is crucial to maintain their interest and create engagement. What are things in common between you and your audience? Don’t just focus on sharing things that are obviously relevant to what you do, but be sure to share content that is interesting and engaging to your targeted audiences and that speaks directly to them authentically. To accomplish this, it's very important to identify how your target audience thinks, and what type of relevant things they are in need of that you could provide them with.
